Police investigate late night shooting

Desert Hot Springs police were investigating a shooting that happened late Tuesday night on the eastbound side of Pierson Boulevard.

Calls came in to the KESQ News Channel 3 newsroom just before 11:30 p.m. concerning Pierson Boulevard and Palm Drive being closed to traffic.

Officers at the scene told News Channel 3 the victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have Pierson going eastbound closed until the scene is cleaned up.
