Missing dog rescued from canal
Riverside County Animal Services officers rescued a dog from the Riverside canal Monday afternoon.
Officers said the dog was stuck in the canal and while the situation wasn’t dire at the time, ongoing rain forecasts were a concern. It took four officers to lead the dog to a location where they were able to pull it to safety.
According to RCAS, officers found out the cattle-breed dog was microchipped and had been missing for a week. Officers were able to reach the owner and the two will be reunited tomorrow.
“We’re excited that it all worked out and look forward to reuniting the dog with its rightful owner,” RCAS Lt. James Huffman said.
