Toys, thousands of dollars of copper stolen from Yucca Valley elementary schools

In a news release, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department revealed that Wednesday morning, responded to a report of a burglary at Yucca Mesa Elementary School.

Deputies discovered that several thousands of dollars’ worth of copper wire was stolen. Several toys were also stolen, a locked container was forced open, and three portable classrooms were damaged.

At around the same time, deputies were responded to similar reports at Onaga Elementary School. Deputies say several classrooms were wrecked, costing the school several thousands of dollars in damages. Copper wire was also removed from the school.

Deputies are currently working on leads discovered from surveillance captured at the school.
