Palm Springs Aerial Tramway closed Friday due to flooding

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will be closed Thursday and Friday due to heavy rains and flooding.

The Tram never opened today and earlier this morning, employees were the only people at the top.

A Palm Springs Aerial Tramway official made the announcement shortly after 10:00 a.m. today, and issued an updated statement at 2:00 p.m., informing the public that the closure would be span Thursday and Friday.

Thursday’s weather conditions are causing extensive road and event closures today. Palm Springs VillageFest was canceled around 9:00 a.m. this morning, and major thoroughfares across the valley are being impacted heavily by flooding.
