African Children’s Choir performs in Palm Desert, La Quinta

The African Children’s Choir performed over the weekend at Desert Springs Church in Palm Desert.

These performers, ages 8-10, are on the road for a nine month tour. They come from Uganda, and each have underprivileged backgrounds. The tour aims to raise awareness and provide funds to increase educational opportunities for the children the program serves.

“It’s just so inspiring. They just have a unique ability to touch your heart so quickly,” said Janelle Hoekstra from African Children’s Choir.

“I like meeting new people, and I like singing,” said Esther, one of the performers.

Since 1984, organizers say 52,000 children have been educated through this program and others offered.

If you missed the group’s performance in Palm Desert, you can see them Wednesday, February 20, at La Quinta Christian Fellowship at 7 pm. More information can be found here: https://africanchildrenschoir.com/the-choir/shows/
