Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs damaged by storm, asks community for help

The Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs suffered major flooding and damage as a result of last week’s storm.

Margaret Keung, the Club’s executive director says they had several inches of water rushing through their building, damaging the floors and carpet.

Although the water has dried out now, they expect the club will need thousands of dollars’ worth of repairs — something they say they simply cannot afford. They provide programs for hundreds of local kids and rely entirely on donations.

“We do not get any subsidy from the city or the government…nothing from the public agencies so this will set us back,” said Margaret Keung, the executive director for the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs.

Although damaged, the club is up and running again. They say many working families depend on their services here.
