Police seek pair who abandoned dogs in Desert Hot Springs

Desert Hot Springs police are seeking a man and woman who abandoned a couple of dogs that appear to be pit bulls in front of the Desert Hot Springs Animal Care and Control Office Thursday night.

The pair came to the office, which is located at 65810 Hacienda Avenue, set up a makeshift kennel, and dropped the dogs off next to a sign informing the public not to drop off pets, as it is illegal. After the suspects left the scene, the dogs escaped the kennel, and are now on the loose.

The demeanor of the dogs is not known, the public is advised to be wary if they encounter them.

DHSPD officers and Desert Hot Springs Animal Control officers are combing the area for the escaped dogs.
