News Channel 3’s Karen Devine named Woman of the Year for the 42nd District

Assemblyman Chad Mayes (R-Yucca Valley) presented News Channel 3 anchor Karen Devine with the Woman of the Year award for the 42nd District.

Mayes highlighted Karen Devine’s 27 years as an award-winning journalist in the Coachella Valley and her commitment to the community.

“When she is not on-air, Karen gives back to her community through her service to local organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Palm Springs Women in Film and Television, and the Girlfriend Factor. She volunteers in local schools and mentors up and coming journalist. I can think of no one more deserving of this recognition,” Mayes said.

The Woman of the Year award was founded in 1987 by state legislature. The award commemorates the contributions and accomplishments of remarkable women throughout the state.
