One hospitalized after DUI crash in La Quinta
One person was transported to the hospital after a DUI crash in La Quinta.
The crash was initially reported at around 4:45 p.m. near the intersection of Dune Palms and Avenue 48.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, 54-year-old Alex Marroquin, of Indio, was driving a Nissan truck eastbound on Avenue 48 approaching Dune Palms Road. Marroquin failed to stop for a red traffic light at the intersection and crashed into a silver Nissan Altima.
The driver of the Nissan Altima was hospitalized with moderate injuries. Marroquin was not injured. He has for driving while being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
The investigation remains ongoing, anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the La Quinta Traffic Bureau at the Thermal Sheriff’s Station at 760-863-8990.
