Sprinkler Specialist Electrocuted By Water Pump At John Glenn Middle School In Indio

INDIO – A Desert Sands Unified School Districtsprinkler specialistkilled by electrocution in an apparent industrial accident was identified late Mondayas James Jeffredo, 50, of Indio.Jeffredo was killed while working at John Glenn Middle School in Indio earlier in the day.

Indio Police say the worker’s body was found between the middle school and Amelia Earhart Elementary at a common areaat 12:45 p.m.According to the Riverside County Coroner’s office, Jeffredo was killed as he was checking awater pump andmay have come into contact with an energized electrical circuit.

Police are investigating the death as an industrial accident.An official with the Occupational Health and Safety Administration was on scene investigating the apparent accident. It’s unknown when an OSHA report will be released.
