Morning Weather Anchor, KIFI-TV, Idaho Falls, ID

KIFI Local News 8, the ABC affiliate for eastern Idaho and western Wyoming, is looking for a Morning Weather Anchor.

The candidate would be responsible for creating the area’s most respected weathercast in the region and maintain the station’s First Alert 8 weather brand. Your responsibilities will be to provide the forecast for nearly two dozen cities, but also for some the nation’s most popular vacation destinations, including Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park, along with Idaho’s central mountains.

Local News 8 uses some of the most advanced weather technology in the market with Baron Weather System and its popular VIPIR Radar. Other valuable tools include a neighborhood weather network, sky cameras in four different locations, and work closely with the National Weather Service, as we are an official NWS reporting station for the city of Idaho Falls.

Candidates must have a degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, journalism, media, or related field; a minimum of two years on-air at a commercial broadcast television station. Prior experience with weather graphics systems, a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, world-wide-web, email and ENPS, the newsroom computer software is a plus.
