Banning Police Hunt Two Stabbing Suspects
BANNING – Police are searching for two suspects wanted for stabbing a man at a party Saturday.
One man, Albert Perez, 31 of Banning, was arrested and booked at Larry Smith Correctional Facility. Two more suspects are still at large, said Sgt. Bill Caldwell with the Banning Police Department.
The victim is in serious but stable condition.
The attack happened around 5 p.m. in an apartment at 726 W. Nicolet St.
The motive behind the stabbing is uncertain but may have resulted from one person mocking the other’s wife, Caldwell said.
The Banning Police Department got a call reporting the incident from a nearby house at 178 N. Eighth St., police officials said. When officers arrived, they found the 19-year-old male victim suffering from three stab wounds.
The San Gorgonio Special Operations Gang Task Force went to the apartment and detained several people for questioning.
One suspect is a Hispanic male adult standing 5 feet-5 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. The other suspect is a Hispanic female adult standing 5 feet-4 inches tall and weighing 230 pounds.
The investigation is ongoing.
