Two People Arrested After Cathedral City Police Chase
CATHEDRAL CITY – Two people are behind bars after leading police on a short chase.
Police say it happened after midnight Sundayin the area of Avenida Maravilla and 30th Avenue in Cathedral City.
Police tried to stop a Ford Mustang for reckless driving.
Police say the car was swerving on the road and fled from police reaching speeds of up to 75 miles per hour and running stop signs.
The car eventually crashed in the area of Via Miraleste Drive and Racquet Club in Palm Springs.
Police arrested the driver, Brissa Lopez-Espinoza, 24, of Desert Hot Springs.
Police say she previously had a warrant for her arrest for child endangerment and the Mustang she was driving was stolen.
Police also arrested the passenger, Richard Palacio, 37,of Palm Springs.
He was a parolee at large for a weapons violation and an alleged gang member.
No one was hurt.
