Three Detained After Teen Shot In Desert Hot Springs
Three people are being investigated for yesterday’s shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Desert Hot Springs.
KESQ.com first broke the story as it was happening Tuesday afternoon when the boy arrived at the Desert Hot Springs Police Department with a gunshot wound to the chest. He showed up around 3:30pm.
Soon afterward, police spotted a car matching the description the boy gave police, and found three people inside. All three were taken into custody, and a gun was found inside the car.
Police tell News Channel 3 Daivon Davell Johnson, 21, William Shack, 20, and a 15-year-old boy were arrested. The adults are being held on un-related charges. The teenager was released to his parents. A fourth suspect may also be implicated.
Sgt. Dan Bressler told us live on-the-air that all indications point to a gang-related shooting.
The victim is at Desert Regional Medical Center, today, listed in fair condition after undergoing surgery.
