Arrest in Deadly Banning Hit and Run
An arrest, two and a half months after a deadly hit and run collision was caught on tape.
A security camera video captured the final moments of Cody Rodenbucher’s life back on January 30th.
The 17 year-old was struck and killed as he walked along the 4500 block of Ramsey Street.
Police questioned and released a suspect in the crime, Sachin Bhakta, 28, a local hotel manager.
The Banning Police Department now says it has arrested Bhakta for murder, felony hit and run, and driving on a suspended license.
Police say he had three prior convictions for driving under the influence, and had alcohol in his blood the night of the wreck.
