Human Skull Found Near Idyllwild

The discovery of a human skull near Idyllwild was being investigated today as a suspicious death.

The skull was found May 18 about two miles east of Lake Fulmer, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Herman Lopez of the Central Homicide Unit.

The skull appeared to have been at the location for some time, Lopez said.

Detectives recovered several unspecified items of evidence from the area, according to Lopez.

The remains were taken to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office for examination by a forensic anthropologist, the sergeant said.

Anyone with information about the remains were asked to call Investigator Rick Simms at (760) 393-3524.
