Fuel Lines to Blame For Verizon Fire In Palm Springs

Thick black smoke poured out of the Verizon building on Sunrise Road in Palm Springs, Tuesday morning, after authorities say a generator’s fuel line caught fire.

The fire was reported at about 7:45am at the corner of Sunrise and Amado.

Authorities say the company has a monthly inspection to check its generators for safety issues. During this morning’s inspection, they say the fuel lines got cut, and somehow caught fire.

Workers were told to leave as three fire engines responded, including a ladder truck that firefighters used to access the generator.

No one was injured.

It’s not clear how long workers will be affected.
