Riverside Bank Robbery Suspect Captured In Texas
A suspect in a half-dozen bank robberies in Riverside was arrested in Texas, authorities said today.
Zachary Clark, 22, was located Thursday in Port Aransas, Texas, by members of the Inland Regional Apprehension Team — a fugitive task force made up of officers from several local law enforcement agencies — with the assistance of the FBI.
He is suspected in six bank heists in Riverside between March 29 and May 29, according to Riverside police.
“In each incident, Clark passed a note to the bank teller demanding cash,” Sgt. Derwin Hudson alleged. “After receiving the cash, Clark fled from the locations.”
According to Hudson, investigators identified Clark after examining surveillance photos from the May 29 robbery.
A nationwide manhunt got under way, leading to the suspect’s apprehension in Texas, the sergeant said.
He said Clark was expected to be extradited back to California in the next three or four weeks to face six counts of robbery and one count of attempted robbery.
