Cathedral City Man Wanted For Robbing Lost Visitor

Authorities today released a description of a Cathedral City man sought for allegedly robbing a Los Angeles woman who got lost in Indian Wells about a month ago.

William Henry James Howard, 26, is accused of robbing the victim on May 31 in the vicinity of Miles Avenue and Highway 111, after offering to help her find her hotel, said sheriff’s Sgt. David Florez.

A warrant was issued for Howard’s arrest, and he told investigators he would turn himself in, but he failed to do so, Florez said.

Investigators believe Howard is still in the area, and he should be considered armed and dangerous, the sergeant said.

Howard is of Filipino descent, with a shaved head, around 5 feet 9 inches tall and between 150-160 pounds. He has a tattoo on the back of his neck that says, “UNLOVED.”

Anyone with information about his whereabouts was asked to call the sheriff’s department at (760) 836-1600.
