Website Could Predict Winners In November Election
Cut through the news conferences about housekeepers and the sometimes-annoying political ads.
When you walk into the polling booth on Election Day you have only one thing to base your vote on – your opinion.
Now, a website is literally scraping millions of posts from Twitter, Facebook, blogs and merging them with opinion polls. Then it mashes it all together and predicts who will be the winner in races all across the country.
From The Daily Beast, it’s called the “Election Oracle.”
We checked out the California’s governor’s race, and based on what people have been tweeting, Facebooking and blogging, it looks like he winner could be Democrat Jerry Brown.
Even though Meg Whitman is being talked about more, Brown’s buzz online is more positive.
In the 45th Congressional Race, Republican Mary Bono Mack has the nod so far.
According to the social media chatter, Bono Mack has the highest ratings when it comes to her stance on job creation, while Steve Pougnet wins when it comes to war.
Then, there’s the razor close California senate race between Barbara Boxer and Carly Fiorina.
Both are being talked about a lot online – both get about the same positive chatter, but when you add in the national poll numbers to the chatter, Rancho Mirage’s Barbara Boxer comes out ahead.
