Aliede Bennett Named To Chair ‘Go Red For Women’ Initiative

The American Heart Association?s Coachella Valley Division is excited to announce Aliede Bennett as chair of the 2011 Go Red For Women Initiative and Luncheon.

With a career focused in patient advocacy and volunteer organizations, most recently as Director of Volunteer Services at Eisenhower Medical Center, Mrs. Bennett has been supportive of the Go Red For Women campaign since attending the first Go Red For Women luncheon in 2008.

?The Go Red For Women initiative makes perfect sense? said Bennett. ?As women, we are caretakers, nurturers, and put everyone around us first in line ? which leaves little time for us. I have learned throughout my career and in life that when we have our health, we have everything.?

KESQ News Channel 3 is proud to be part of the initiative.

The Go Red For Women initiative was developed to heighten awareness of the impact that heart disease has on women. It has been highlighted over the last three years in the Coachella Valley with the Go Red For Women Luncheon in February. Under Mrs. Bennett?s leadership, the Go Red For Women initiative is becoming a year-round focus. The monthly Tasty Topics luncheons were initiated in July 2010 with local seminars and other events planned that feature education around heart disease and lifestyle choices that can impact and prevent the #1 killer of women.

?We are excited about making the Go Red For Women initiative a year round movement within the Coachella Valley. Heart disease does not discriminate. We want to reach as many women as we can; engaging women of all ages and walks of life. And, while reaching out to educate and inform, we can have some fun along the way.?

The 2011 Go Red For Women Luncheon is scheduled for Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Westin Mission Hills Resort. Information can be found on their website.
