Murder Suspects Claim Prosecutors Intercepted Attorney Conversations
Two men charged with the financially motivated murder of 74-year old Clifford Lambert are lodging serious allegations against the Riverside County District Attorney’s office.
Twenty-seven year old Daniel Garcia and 28-year-old Kaushal Niroula told Judge Downing they believe the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office obtained hundreds of phone conversations between themselves and their lawyers.
Private conversations between clients and their attorney’s is a basic constitutional right for any defendant. “I’m most concerned that they have these private conversations, private property and information about strategy that only my lawyer and I have discussed”, said Garcia.
The judge delayed the motion until November 5th. The two defendants were granted 8 hours a day of in-person meetings with their legal council and investigators in a private area of the jail.
