The Prestige Golfers Give Back To Community

Fifteen of the top collegiate golf programs are in the desert this weekend for one of the nation’s most prominent tournaments, The Prestige. Hosted by PGA West, the tournament offers a professional-type atmosphere for the collegiate athletes.

The tournament also steps beyond the bounds of competition. Players and coaches teamed up to host a clinic for about 300 young golfers and their families. People came from all over Southern California to take tips from some of the nation’s top college golfers and coaches. In addition to budding golf pros, the clinic also reached out to the Coachella Boys and Girls Club to offer lessons to children who had never even step foot on a golf course.

The efforts of the players and teams set the Prestige apart from any other tournament in the nation. Coaches stressed the importance of good grades and hard work to all of the attendees.

Teams tee off on Sunday and finish play on Tuesday.
