Big Guns To Campaign For California Candidates

(KABC) With less than three weeks until the election, both political parties are pulling out all the stops.

President Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton and Sarah Palin are just some of the big names coming to California to help candidates.

Clinton will be at the University of California, Los Angeles Friday to campaign for California Democratic candidates Jerry Brown and Gavin Newsom.

Clinton is scheduled to speak at the campus at 6 p.m. Before that, he will be in Santa Ana campaigning for Democratic Rep. Loretta Sanchez, who faces a tough challenge from Republican Assemblyman Van Tran.

Palin was in San Jose Thursday raising money for Republican candidates.

On Friday Palin will be at the Western Conservative Political Action Conference in Newport Beach. She will hold a rally in Anaheim on Saturday.

Speaking of pulling out the big guns, President Obama will be making his fifth trip to Southern California.

The president will be campaigning on behalf of Sen. Barbara Boxer and Jerry Brown next week at the University of Southern California.

All the big political names in town mean heavier traffic. The Westside is preparing for heavier traffic than usual for Clinton’s visit on Friday.
