Highway 60 Squeezes To One Lane From Beaumont To Moreno Valley

A Caltrans paving project will squeeze drivers into to a single lane and temporarily close some off-ramps next week through the hilly, twisty Badlands section of the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway.

From 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday, work crews will be stationed between the 60 Freeway’s split from the San Bernardino (10) Freeway in Beaumont and the Theodore Street exit in Moreno Valley, said Caltrans spokeswoman Kathy Boltz.

The work will include grinding to smooth the highway surface and then paving it with asphalt, Boltz said.

Traffic is expected to slow to crawl through the steep grades in both directions of the 60 in the project area. Detour signs will direct drivers on alternate routes where ramps are temporarily closed.
