American Heat Motorcycle Weekend Roars Into Palm Springs

More than 5,000 bikers are expected to roll into downtown Palm Springs this weekend for the American Heat Motorcycle Weekend.

The event will feature stunt shows, a vendor fair and live entertainment.

To accommodate the festivities, Palm Canyon Drive will be closed to traffic from Amado to Arenas roads from 5:30 a.m. Friday through 9 p.m. Sunday. Any vehicles parked on the roadway will be towed at the owner’s expense, Palm Springs police Officer Rhonda Long said.

American Heat Motorcycle Weekend Schedule Of Events

Additional officers will be patrolling the city to crack down on drunken driving, Long said.

Those who drink were asked to call a taxi or designate a driver.

Event hours are noon to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
