WEATHER: Urban And Small Stream Flood Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a small stream and urban flood advisory for the Coachella Valley until 8:15 p.m.

Widespread showers were moving in a westerly direction across Western Riverside County, extreme southwestern San Bernardino County and southern and eastern Orange County, this afternoon.

The flood advisory targets poor drainage areas.

As the rain gets heavier, excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on small creeks and streams and ponding of water in urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage areas and low lying spots.
