Geyser Erupts In Cathedral City After Car Rams Hydrant
Cathedral City police are investigating a car accident that happened on Wednesday morning, which resulted in a huge plume of water showering all over Perez Road.
The crash happened around 10 a.m. near the intersection of Perez Road and Date Palm Drive.
Police said a car hit a fire hydrant, sheering it off its connection with the piping below ground, sending a huge plume of water into the air.
Some estimate the geyser gushed 40 feet up.
Crews worked fast to replace the hydrant.
The condition of the driver is not known, nor is the cause of the accident.
