High School Fight Broken Up By Sheriff’s Deputies

A fight involving several students at a Moreno Valley high school this afternoon was broken up by Riverside County sheriff’s deputies, who may have used pepper spray on one combatant.

The fight at Rancho Verde High School in the 17000 block of Lasselle Street was reported about 2:45 p.m.

A deputy assigned to security detail at the campus requested assistance when a large crowd massed at the location, according to sheriff’s officials.

There were unconfirmed reports that either deputies or campus security guards deployed pepper spray to subdue one of the juveniles involved in the altercation.

No injuries were reported.
