Three Year Old Hospitalized After Dog Attack

A 3-year-old boy is in the hospital after being bitten by a dog.

It happened at about 9:35 a.m. in Mecca on the 70000 block of Conchella Dr.

Fire crews say the toddler has multiple dog bites, including one on the neck.

According to Riverside County Sheriff?s investigators, the boy, his mom and the dog were in the back yard. The mother was doing some gardening.

That?s when the dog bit him.

“I think they [the victim’s family] knew it was aggressive,? said Jocelyn Aldana, a neighbor who called 911. ?Maybe they should have done something about it before this happened. Keep an eye on your dogs. If it seems more aggressive, then do something about it.?

The child was airlifted to Loma Linda Medical Center. The dog was taken in by authorities to be tested for rabies.
