Newly Opened Palm Desert Ice Cream Store Held Up

Two days after a Dairy Queen in Bermuda Dunes was robbed, a Cold Stone Creamery in Palm Desert was robbed at gunpoint.

A suspect entered the store on Cook Street and Country Club Drive at just after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a shirt pulled over his head.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man 6 feet tall and heavy set. He forced the employees in the freezer.

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and some the employees personal property.

The employees were ordered to the rear of the store until the robber got away.
