Canyon National Bank Shuts Its Doors

Canyon National Bank closed its doors Friday Afternoon.

A note on the door and on the bank’s web page informed customers of the closure.

The following is posted on the Bank’s web page:

“On Friday, February 11, 2011, Canyon National Bank, Palm Springs, CA was closed by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency – OCC. Subsequently, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation – FDIC was named Receiver.

“No advance notice is given to the public when a financial institution is closed. All deposit accounts have been transferred to Pacific Premier Bank, Costa Mesa, CA. For more information on Pacific Premier Bank, visit us at our website.

The FDIC has assembled useful information regarding your relationship with Canyon National Bank. Besides a checking account, you may have Certificates of Deposit, a business checking account, a Social Security direct deposit, and other relationships with the institution.
