Teen Arrested In Coachella Shooting, Police Search For Second Suspect

Coachella police announced on Monday they made an arrest in connection with the shooting of a woman during a robbery last month.

The shooting happened on Jan. 27 around 9:50 p.m., according to Sgt. Tony Bauer. Coachella Police officers had responded to an armed robbery at a parking in the 49000 block of Harrison St.

The victim said she was approached by a man and a woman. The man demanded money and other things from her. She said she complied with the request, and was shot in the face with a hand gun.

The suspects ran away from the parking lot in an unknown direction, said Bauer. The victim was transported to the hospital and survived the attempted murder.

On Sunday, Feb. 13, investigators followed up on leads, and identified and arrested a 16-year-old male Indio resident in connection with the crime.

He was booked into the Indio Juvenile Hall.

The search continues for the second suspect – a Hispanic female, about 18 years old, 5? to 5?3? with a medium build with dark-colored shoulder-length hair wearing a black sweater.
