Rescue Crews Bring Injured Hiker To Safety In Palm Springs

Cal Fire and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Dept. worked to rescue a hiker in distress on Wednesday afternoon.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Herlinda Valenzuela said they received the call around 1:15 p.m. from a person who needed help along the Pacific Coast Trail near Whitewater. Rescue crews were working on-foot while the sheriff department helicopter was searching by air.

By 3:45 p.m., the female hiker had been located, and flown down to safety..

The extent of her condition or injuries was not known.
