Gov. Brown Signs Order To Send Accused Molester To Palm Springs
California Gov. Jerry Brown signed an extradition order on Thursday requesting Jeffrey Christopher Roderick be sent from his New Philadelphia, Ohio, home to Palm Springs where authorities have already charged him with 17 counts of child molestation.
Roderick was arrested in Ohio in late January after new tenants of a home he used to live in discovered a disc containing images of him engaging in sexual acts with a child. New Philadelphia police investigators said the recording was made in 2004 while he was on vacation in Palm Springs. He was charged in Ohio with possessing child pornography.
Since the discovery, Palm Springs police have been looking into the possibility there may be more victims.
Investigators were asking parents who lived on the 2300 block of Carillo Road in Palm Springs between 1998 and 2005 to ask their children if they were the victims of sexual abuse.
