Woman Dies After Being Hit by a Truck in La Quinta
A woman has died, after being hit by a pick up truck in La Quinta Saturday afternoon.
It happened just after 2:30 on Highway 111 near Dune Palms, in front of the Walmart.
Police say the woman was crossing the street, but not in a crosswalk, when a vehicle travelling westbound hit her. She was rushed to JFK Hospital with major injuries. She later died. Her name has not been released.
The driver of the truck stopped and cooperated with police. Westbound lanes were shut down until about 7:30 p.m., while police investigated.
