Sky Valley Fire Threatened Brush, Buildings
Riverside County firefighters were still on the scene of an overnight fire on Friday morning they had feared could have spread to other buildings.
The fire was reported just after 3 a.m. on the 17500 block of Langley Rd. in Sky Valley.
Fire Dept. spokeswoman Cheri Patterson said firefighters found an abandoned home and travel trailer full engulfed in flames and feared the fire could spread to other buildings nearby.
The home belonged to Lloyd Hartman who is now in a local nursing home, and at one time appeared on the cable television show “Hoarders,” which features people trying to cure themselves of their need to collect and keep items.
As of 8 a.m., firefighters were still on the scene mopping up and making sure hot spots didn’t flare up.
An investigation will be launched into the cause of the fire.
No one was injured.
