Palm Springs Bank Of America Robbed
Palm Springs police were searching for a suspect in a bank robbery that hit a downtown Bank of America branch.
The robbery happened at 9:30 a.m., soon after the bank on the 500 block of S. Palm Canyon opened for business, according to a police dispatcher.
At 3 p.m., police released a suspect description. They were looking for a black man in his 20s who stood around 6 ft. tall, had a thin build, wore a baseball cap, a plaid long-sleeved shirt and jeans.
Anyone with information that may lead to the identity or capture of this suspect is encouraged to call Det. Mike Studer at 760-323-8146.
The same branch was held up earlier this year by Carol Bias, the wife of a former Desert Hot Springs mayor. She pleaded guilty last month to lesser charges and was given a probated sentence for robbing that branch and one near Wal Mart on Ramon Road.
