8 Year Old Escapes Bermuda Dunes Kidnapping
Riverside County sheriff’s deputies were searching for a man who tried to kidnap an 8-year-old boy from the front yard of his Bermuda Dunes home.
The incident happened Sunday afternoon around 1 p.m. along the 72900 block of Avenue 42.
Deputies said the boy was approached by a middle-aged man and woman in a light blue, sport utility vehicle.
The woman asked him to get inside. When he refused, the boy said she got out of the car and grabbed him by his shirt and tried to drag him into the vehicle.
He said he managed to hit the suspect’s hand away and was able to run for help. The couple then drove off.
