Man Arrested After Stabbing, Fight In Home Invasion

San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man on Wednesday who they believe broke into a couple’s home while one of them was asleep.

Deputy Dave Cruz said a woman woke up at about 8 a.m. after she heard noises coming from inside her home.

When she got up to investigate, Cruz said she was confronted by a man who had made his way inside. He demanded money from the woman, and they began to struggle when she refused.

During the struggle the woman was stabbed in the arm, and was eventually choked unconscious.

Soon afterward, the woman’s husband returned home from work where he also struggled with the man who was inside. The suspect was able to get out of the house with the husband chasing after him.

A neighbor heard the calls for help, and called the sheriff’s department.

Deputies found the man in the wash area near Greenspot Road, where he was taken into custody, Cruz said.

Both of the home’s residents were treated at a local hospital, where they were expected to make a full recovery.

Michael Holland was booked at the Central Detention Center, where he was awaiting charges of attempted murder, home invasion robbery and a parole violation. He is being held without bail.
