5-Year-Old Hit By Car, In Grave Condition

A 5-year-old boy who was hit by a car on Thursday night is listed in grave condition, according to Desert Hot Springs police.

Commander Dan Bressler said the boy was riding his bike with other family members on Palm Drive between Camino Campesino and Camino Aventura when he tried to cross Palm into his mobile home park.

The driver, who stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, was unable to stop. There were no signs of DUI, he said.

Medical personnel transported the boy to Loma Linda Medical Center, where he is now undergoing treatment to save his life.

Palm Drive was blocked off for much of late Thursday night and early Friday morning. The roadway is now re-opened.
