Police Investigate La Quinta Shooting
La Quinta police detained a man on Wednesday afternoon when he arrived at Eisenhower Medical Center with a gunshot wound.
Police had been searching for a man matching his description after a woman was shot at her home in La Quinta.
The shooting happened at a home on the 78900 block of Sanita Drive, just west of Adams Street, around 12:50 p.m.
The woman, 44, was taken to a nearby hospital, where her she was listed in stable condition, according to La Quinta police.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, was treated at Eisenhower and was detained by authorities while they further investigate what happened.
