Driver Killed in East Valley Crash

One person died on Wednesday after a two vehicle crash in Thermal which forced authorities to close the area down to allow authorities to land a helicopter and airlift an injured driver to a local hospital, according to Officer Joe Zagorski with the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at around 6:45 p.m. on Jackson Street, just south of Avenue 54.

Officers have not released information on the driver’s condition or the names of the victims.

They are still investigating what led to the crash.
