Fire Burns Four Units At Desert Hot Springs Storage Facility
A fire engulfed four units at a Desert Hot Springs storage facility before being extinguished today, a county fire spokeswoman said.
The blaze was reported around 11:50 a.m. at Desert Self Storage, 66251 Dillon Road, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said. No one was injured, she said.
A worker at the facility told News Channel 3’s June Bulnes there was an auction of one of the units’ belongings, this morning.
About 50 people were walking in and out of the unit when someone told him there was a fire.
The worker called 911 and couldn’t find the person who had alerted him afterward.
About 30 county and state firefighters doused the flames in about 40 minutes. The cause of the fire was under investigation, Hendrickson said.
