Cathedral City Rollover Crash Shuts Down East Ramon Road

Cathedral City police responded to a roll-over crash around 7:39 Saturday night, near the area of Round Up Dr. and Ramon Rd.

Officers arriving found a truck flipped over onto its roof and a car with it’s front end smashed in.

According to witnesses, the truck turned onto Round Up heading south. The truck didn’t stop for on-coming traffic and passed in front of the car. The car then hit the truck on its passenger’s side, flipping it over onto its roof.

As the car collided with the truck, it swerved into another lane and collided with a third vehicle. That third vehicle received only minor damage and no one inside was hurt.

The driver of the car, 34 year-old Alejandro Reyes of Cathedral City, was pulled from the vehicle before officers got on scene. He was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center to get checked over. Officers say Reyes displayed the same characteristics as a drunk person. They took him into custody after he was cleared at the hospital.

Officers booked Reyes into the Riverside County Jail in Banning for felony driving under the influence and driving without a license.
