NFL – Chargers Fall Late To Seahawks
The San Diego Chargers were outscored 24-7 in the second half by the Seattle Seahawks en route to a 24-17 loss in their first preseason game of the year.
Philip Rivers started for the Bolts and looked sharp going 5 for 6 and leading an 89-yard scoring drive in his only series. The highlight of the series was a 48-yard pass to Vincent Jackson, who the Chargers were without for most of last season. MIke Tolbert caught an 8-yard pass to cap the drive.
The Seahawks Thomas Clayton rushed for a 25-yard touchdown with 3:05 left to put the birds ahead for good.
The special teams for the Chargers got a boost when Cornell graduate Bryan Walters returned a kickoff 103 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.
