Desert Hot Springs Police Make Arrest In Apartment Shooting

A man was taken into custody on Wednesday in connection with a deadly shooting in Desert Hot Springs on Aug. 2.

Investigators said a collaborative effort with several law enforcement and investigative agencies located Paulino Lora, 22, in Calexico on Wednesday.

He was taken into custody without incident, said Sgt. Kenneth Peary.

Lora had been linked to the shooting that left one man dead and another clinging to life at the Country Hills Apartments, on the 66900 block of Ironwood Drive.

Peary said the shots were fired outside of the apartment buildings.

Alfredo ?Peanuts? Stultz, 21, of Desert Hot Springs, was killed in the gunfight.

Another man, whose name has not been released, is being treated at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.

Both men had ties to local street gangs, Peary said.

Lora faces possible charges of murder, attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of loaded weapon, ex-felon with a gun, Ex-felon in possession of ammo and shooting at an inhabited dwelling/vehicle, according to Perry.

Lora was transported to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department offices in Indio.
