Military Explosives Discovered At Recycling Plant

An investigation is under way to figure out who dropped off three active military explosives at a local recycling plant.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s department received calls about the explosives just after 9 a.m. Saturday.

Deputies found the explosives at the Coachella Valley Recycling Center in Coachella.

Deputies evacuated the area and called in the hazardous device team.

The team safely discharged the devices, which authorities said appear to be from the World War II era.

If you know anything about the explosives, call Valley Crimestoppers at 760-341-STOP.

You can remain anonymous and could receive up to a $1,000 reward.
