Military officials say a Marine’s wife and mother of two killed in a propane gas explosion outside a remote Northern California training base was a 31-year-old from Hudson, Iowa.

The Marines released a statement late Saturday saying the woman killed was Lori Hardin, wife of 34-year-old Gunnery Sgt. Greg G. Hardin of Tuolumne, Calif.

Greg Hardin, a public works planner for the Marines, and the couple’s two children were not hurt.

The Marines say one of the explosion’s two injured victims has been released from a hospital in Reno, Nev. The other remains in critical condition at a burn center in Davis, Calif.

The explosion occurred Friday in night the Mono County town of Coleville at a housing unit for the U.S. Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center.
