Desert-Based Charter Jet Company Sees 3,700 Percent Increase In Sales
Desert Jet, an aircraft charter and aviation management company based in Thermal, found itself in a rare position in this troubled economy — too much business and not enough office space.
The company has had to triple its office space to match its tripled revenue stream over the last three years, Desert Jet President Denise Wilso said.
“We have experienced such tremendous growth in the past three years as more and more people look to charter flights for traveling,” Wilson said.
With a 3,700 percent increase in revenue in three years, Wilson said Desert Jet has leased out more office space at the Signature Flight Support complex at the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport.
The company has also added a fourth aircraft, a 2002 Citation Encore to its charter fleet.
“We have seen a 35 percent growth in travel from our international travelling clients, notably to and from Canada and Mexico”, Wilson said.
She said Canadians who increasingly are purchasing homes in the Coachella Valley like flying on Desert Jet because the exchange rate is more attractive and “snowbirds” like the convenience and comfort of jet charter travel.
The spike in business hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Wilson said Desert Jet has been ranked as the fastest growing charter aircraft company in the nation according to Inc. magazine.
“We are proud of our impact on the local economy with the travelers we bring to the desert,” Wilson said.
